Vehicle Identification Number

Why is it important?

If you are enquiring about a part using our online form, it is extremely important that you supply the VIN number of your vehicle. With this number, we can see exactly which parts fit your vehicle and which do not.

Sometimes it is possible to look up parts simply from the year and model of the vehicle, but this is not usually the case as there can be many options for the same model year vehicle. If you enquire about a part and do not supply a VIN number, there is a good chance we will not be able to help you, and we will not take responsibility for parts that are incorrectly identified.

If you have the 8-digit GM part number for the part you require, we can look these up without a VIN, but supplying it is still recommended in case the part number has changed.

Where to find it

The VIN is a 17 digit string of letters and numbers which can be located in a number of places. We do not recommend using the VIN printed in your log book as it is often incorrect. Instead, read the VIN from the plate at the bottom of the windscreen, or from the label on the edge of the front door (viewable when door is open).
